In late March, I mentioned that I would be switching my wellness focus.
After working on the spiritual and emotional aspects over the last two years, I’ve learned and grown a lot, and created healthy habits to maintain that part of my wellbeing. So, I have since switched my focus to the physical.
I started with going to my doctor to get an assessment of where I am right now in my health. It wasn’t a comprehensive assessment but we’ve identified a few areas that I need to work on. Namely, lowering my cholesterol, blood sugar, and weight. I’ll get into more detail on that another time.
This journey to better physical wellness is a big challenge and it’s very overwhelming. So, I’ll be taking it in phases and steps; educating myself and making changes over the next 18 months.
My overall goal is to just be healthy, have the energy and mental clarity to live well. I want to nourish my body so that I can do well the things I’m called to.
The first phase is nutrition and I will be focused on improving digestion in the first few months. Each month, I’ll give myself a wellness challenge to create a healthy habit. I’ll start off with, what I hope will be, an easy challenge this month and that is to increase my water intake. This is something I’ve struggled with in the past and I think it’s an important first step. I’ll be back in August to share how that went.
Check out the video linked below to see the approach I will be taking to plan and document this endeavour. Thanks so much for joining me on this journey. I hope you got something out of what I’ve shared today. My hope in sharing is to pass on anything helpful that I’ve learned in the hope that you may benefit from it.
At the very least, I hope to encourage you to be intentional about your wellbeing and living this life well.
