Leave your mark

He is a God on mission and so we are sent people.

And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Matthew 28:18-20

I touched on this a little bit in my previous post called I trust you with this. And, last Sunday’s mission-focused service at our church echoed the message.

I found it interesting that the speaker described “nations” not as countries but as people groups. That is, groups of people that share commonalities that unite them and differentiate them from others. In this modern age, God is sending people groups to us.

We will be witnesses; in fact, we are. To whom are you sent?

Declare his glory among the nations, his marvelous works among all the peoples! For great is the Lord, and greatly to be praised; he is to be feared above all gods. For all the gods of the peoples are worthless idols, but the Lord made the heavens.

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭96‬:‭3‬-‭5‬

you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.

Acts‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬

Products used

These pages are in a basic, blank, A5 notebook that I use for faith journaling. I used some leftover bits and a stamp set from a previous kit by Illustrated Faith.

I also used a printable set by @kristina.proffitt which features the artwork pictured. You can find it here: Leave your mark.

Be encouraged

We are blessed so that we can be a blessing to others. That includes our own people, other churches, as well spreading to unreached people who do not know the hope of the gospel.

Fear can keep us from answering this call. However, this is not a call that can go unanswered. We are witnesses. We are lights placed where He’s declaring truth. Therefore, the way we live our lives speaks volumes. Our example speaks louder than our words, yet He promises that the indwelling Holy Spirit will give us the words and the courage to speak. That promise is basis for requesting help to be strong, courageous, and faithful in going.
