Peace in every circumstance.
It’s not until it goes missing from our thoughts and lives, and when everything around us looks like chaos, that it becomes apparent just how valuable is peace. I’m meditating on its connection to thankfulness and godly contentment.
We can have peace of mind and heart when we seek Him in prayer to ask with thanksgiving (Philippians 4).
We can be at peace with our circumstances when we find satisfaction in God’s will. When what we want is whatever He wants.
But godliness with contentment is great gain, for we brought nothing into the world, and we cannot take anything out of the world. But if we have food and clothing, with these we will be content. But those who desire to be rich fall into temptation, into a snare, into many senseless and harmful desires that plunge people into ruin and destruction.
1 Timothy 6:6-9

because of the tender mercy of our God, whereby the sunrise shall visit us from on high to give light to those who sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.
Luke 1:78-79
Process and products used:
These pages in the NIV Journal the Word Bible (New Testament) feature the following products by Creative Worship Stamps. These are affiliate links, please see the Privacy Policy for details.
- Star Pattern stencil
- Peaceful Botanicals stamp set
- Lantern Light stamp set
- Peace & Grace Word die set
- Skinny Caps Alpha stamp set
As this entry is about peace, the Peaceful Botanicals set seemed fitting. I stamped the large leaves using green ink then shaded them using the same ink and a blending brush. Then, I stamped the smaller leaf branches around the pages using the same ink. I also stamped beside the verse and highlighted it using residual ink on the blending brush.
Next, I used the Star Pattern stencil to add some stars in yellow ink. I used the residual yellow ink on a piece of mixed media paper then cut out the word “peace” using the Peace & Grace Word dies.
I stamped the candle from Lantern Light strategically over one of the stars. Then, I coloured the flame using a yellow marker. I stamped the word “SHINE” beside that using the Skinny Caps Alpha stamps. Then, I glued the peace die-cut below that and outlined it using a black pen.
I stamped the phrases “perfect peace” and “come what may”, using stamps from the Peaceful Botanicals set, onto paper strips. I shaded them using green ink and outlined them using a black pen.
Lastly, I stamped the verse from Isaiah which is from the Lantern Light set. Then, I added some white paint splatters to finish the page.

🎶 Come on Home ~ Seph Schlueter
I’ve written about peace many times over because it is not my constant state. I am continually learning and continually given reason to practice Philippians 4.
It doesn’t matter how often we drift away, our God will always draw us back to the light. So, I praise His faithfulness and give thanks for His grace!
I’m thankful for the perfect peace that’s available to us because of Jesus Christ. We now have peace with God and can know peace within ourselves and with others. Let’s shine that light into the world.
And let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, to which indeed you were called in one body. And be thankful.
