Walk with Jesus

While journaling this page, I was listening to a few worship songs on the topic of Christ’s return and the imagery that came to mind was of the church, represented by different colours of the rainbow, descending upwards into heaven.

The page turned out a bit more “primary” than I intended. But, how sweet are the little feet walking the straight path?!

I also loved the close relationship illustrated in this passage.

My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.

John‬ ‭10‬:‭27‬

Jesus knows His own, and calls each of us by name. We know Him, discern His voice from others, and not only follow Him exclusively but also run away from others.

I’m thankful that He makes it so simple – listen and follow.

May we have that childlike faith – listening for the voice of our Shepherd and following where He leads; in adoration, in trust, and in gratitude.

Trust in the LORD with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths

Proverbs 3:5-6

Process and products used:

This page in the Illustrating Bible by DaySpring features the following products by Creative Worship Stamps. These are affiliate links, please see the Privacy Policy for details.

I started by stamping the “straight paths” using the ruler stamp from the Vintage Snippets set in the colours of the rainbow. Then, I stamped lots of feet, using the Walk with Jesus stamp set, along the paths in the same colours.

Next, I stamped the verse reference using the Jumbo Textured Numbers stamp set and the Boss Lady Alpha stamp set. The colon was done using the dots on the I and J stamps in the Boss Lady Alpha stamp set.

I used the Vintage Ledger Page stamp on a red sticky note using a dark red ink. I stamped the definition for “reconciliation” over that, using the Faith Definitions 1 stamp set, then glued it to the page.

Next, I stamped “Jesus” from the Walk with Jesus stamp set in black ink onto mixed media paper and cut it out using the coordinating die. I applied some of the dark red and purple inks onto the edges of the die-cut using a blending brush. Then, I glued it to the page, and stamped the rest of the title using stamps from the same set.

Then, I used the Peace Joy Love stencil to add some of the colours over the page so that it wasn’t so concentrated in one area. Lastly, I highlighted the verses using a coordinating marker, added some notes and a prayer, then finished with some white paint splatters.

🎶 First Love Fire ~ Leeland

Jesus is our First Love. He was there from the very beginning. We were separated from Him because of sin, but He did what was necessary to reconcile us onto Himself. Now, He dwells within us. One day soon we will be reunited with Him again. We will be united in a more complete way. My prayer is that He helps me to discern His voice clearer until then.

your eyes shall see your Teacher. And your ears shall hear a word behind you, saying, ‘This is the way, walk in it,’ when you turn to the right or when you turn to the left.

Isaiah‬ ‭30‬:‭20‬-‭21‬

The inspiration for this page came from the Walk with Jesus stamp set. It is part of a series I’m sharing this month as I reflect on having a simple faith – one that is simply focused on Jesus and walking with Him. Find all the posts here: walking with Jesus.
