Walk with readiness

Continuing the series this month on walking with Jesus, here I am in Ephesians 6 where I am reminded to walk with readiness.

Walk with preparedness – equipped and ready to stand against spiritual attacks and move forward with sharing the hope of the gospel of peace. Peace with God, peace within, and peace with others. I’m so thankful for this hope and cannot help but tell others. May it never cease to amaze us, Lord!

May I first preach the gospel to myself, standing firm in the faith. May I seek to understand Your word and grow in knowledge of You. And then, by Your leading, share that with others.

Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Stand therefore, having fastened on the belt of truth, and having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and, as shoes for your feet, having put on the readiness given by the gospel of peace.

Process and products used:

This page in the Illustrating Bible by DaySpring features the following products by Creative Worship Stamps. These are affiliate links, please see the Privacy Policy for details.

I started with the Grunge Textures Mini stencil and dark brown ink to create the path. Then, I stamped along the bottom of the page, using the Nature Silhouettes stamp set, to create a grassy border. I also stamped dragonflies using a stamp from that same set, then added some detail to them using a blue marker.

Then, I added the title using the Walk with Jesus stamp set, and the Print Script Alpha sets. I also stencilled the words “peace” and “hope” using the Peace Joy Love stencil.

Next, I stamped the verse reference using the Jumbo Textured Numbers stamp set and the Boss Lady Alpha stamp set. The colon was done using the dots on the I and J stamps in the Boss Lady Alpha stamp set.

I used the Vintage Ledger Page stamp on a beige sticky note using a dark brown ink. I stamped the definition for “hope” over that, using the Faith Definitions 1 stamp set, then glued it to the page. I outlined it using a brown marker and added some doodles along the edges. The pin is also a doodle. Then, I stamped the stack of books using the Library Treasures stamp set and stencilled the word “hope” over it.

Lastly, I highlighted the verses using a marker then added some white paint splatters to the page.

The inspiration for this page came from the Walk with Jesus stamp set. It is part of a series I’m sharing this month as I reflect on having a simple faith – one that is simply focused on Jesus and walking with Him. Find all the posts here: walking with Jesus.
