Faithful and true

Creative Worship Stamps has a new, faith-inspiring release out now and I just love this stamp set with the swans and the invitation to stillness as we start 2026.

I was inspired to reflect on the story of the death and resurrection of Lazarus which is such a beautiful and powerful one. Jesus met the sisters in their grief. He mourned with them while fully knowing what He was about to do.

Jesus said to her, “I am the resurrection and the life. Whoever believes in me, though he die, yet shall he live, and everyone who lives and believes in me shall never die. Do you believe this?”

John 11:25-26

I took inspiration from the wintry weather we’re having here in Ontario, Canada for this page in Luke 15. I created the background by first putting some blue watercolour paint on the page. After it dried, I stencilled through the Messy Blocks stencil using dark blue ink pad and a blending brush. Then, I stencilled through the Snowstorm stencil using a lighter shade of blue. Then, I splattered some white acrylic paint over the pages. The effect I was going for was a pond in winter.

Next, I stamped a swan from the Swans of Peace stamp set onto mixed media paper and cut it out using the coordinating die. I stippled some white acrylic paint on the body to create some texture. Then, I added some blue ink to the edges to blend in a bit with the page. I also stamped the other swans off the page in dark blue ink and applied some of the ink with a blending brush.

Next, I stamped the title from the same swan stamp set in dark blue. Then, I blocked off parts of the stamp using washi tape so that I could stamp “I AM GOD” separately in black ink. Then, I stamped the title on the bottom of the page using black ink. Lastly, I highlighted the verses on the left page using a light blue marker.

🎶 You Came (Lazarus) ~ Jonathan & Melissa Helser

This song from Lazarus’ perspective – confident and trusting in God’s faithfulness even in death – makes the story that more poignant.

It’s a reminder to trust in His will. Trust in His perfect timing. Trust in His ways which are unlike ours. Trust Him to be still as He does what He does best, to His glory. He is the resurrection and the life; He will come. Do you believe this?

In the wait, let us also be faithful and true.

“Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse! The one sitting on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he judges and makes war. From his mouth comes a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and he will rule them with a rod of iron. He will tread the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty. On his robe and on his thigh he has a name written, King of kings and Lord of Lords.” ~ Revelation‬ ‭19‬:‭11‬, ‭15‬-‭16‬

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth!

‭‭Psalm‬ ‭46‬:‭10‬
