He is the peace in the storm

It is often due to having unrealistic expectations that I feel frustrated and can spiral into negativity.

But, scripture tells us that we can expect all sorts of trouble in this broken world. It also tells us to ask for what we need and to rejoice always.

Judge your response to the storm and what it says.
Is God not sovereign? Is He not good?

Don’t mistake the grace for inconvenience.

Don’t dwell on the past but learn from it. Don’t seek to return to what was or what is considered “normal” or what He delivered you out from. Don’t cling to former things, but remember His faithfulness in them.

For He is doing something new that will bring peace.

Focus on the good and give thanks!

Remember not the former things, nor consider the things of old. Behold, I am doing a new thing; now it springs forth, do you not perceive it? I will make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert… for I give water in the wilderness, rivers in the desert, to give drink to my chosen people, the people whom I formed for myself that they might declare my praise.

Process and products used:

These pages in 100 Days of Bible Promises by Shanna Noel feature the following products by Creative Worship Stamps. These are affiliate links, please see the Privacy Policy for details.

These “100 Days” books are very decorative to begin with so my approach, when journaling in them, is to take inspiration from the design that is already on the page and complement it.

I used the Funky Stone stencil to add some stones in sage green using a blending brush. I outlined them with a pen to give them more structure. Then, I stamped the butterflies from the Butterflies in Flight stamp set over that.

Next, I used the Diamond Mesh stencil to add colour to the pages. I used light green around the edges of the pages. And then, I added blue ink over the clouds. I had some bleed-through from the previous page that left turquoise ink on the left page. So, I added more of that using a marker and a white gel pen.

I used the Peace & Grace Word die set to cut out those words from mixed media paper. I added some colour using yellow and blue inks with a blending brush, then glued them over the clouds.

Next, I stamped the title using the Skinny Caps and Typewriter Alpha stamp sets. Then, I outlined the text using markers. And I stamped two phrases in sage green ink using Butterflies in Flight.

🎶 Stacking Stones ~ Bridge Worship, Mitch Wong

He makes a way where there is none.

He does the impossible – to His glorious praise.

When we lift up prayers and see how God has answered, we have evidence of His faithfulness. Whenever we endure and come through difficulties, we have a record of what God has done that can be a source of encouragement when new challenges arise.

This is one of the reasons why I journal. It is why I record my prayers and gratitude. I’ve seen for myself on this faith journey that He is God and He is good.

Stack the stones – build a remembrance.

I will remember the deeds of the Lord; yes, I will remember your wonders of old. I will ponder all your work, and meditate on your mighty deeds. Your way, O God, is holy. What god is great like our God? You are the God who works wonders; you have made known your might among the peoples.
