As 2026 starts, it finds me still beholding and rejoicing, praying and praising.
As with previous years, I’m using a scripture plan by Illustrated Faith for daily bible reading. This year’s plan is by @belovedsociety and @vanessawalker01, and the theme is the light of God’s word to our eyes and heart. It may be found here: 2026 Scripture Writing plan.
I chose an undated classic Happy Planner in the dashboard layout for faith planning this year. I use it for prayer lists, scripture writing, study notes from other bible studies, etc. Here’s how I am using the dashboard layout, taking inspiration from The Happy Planner’s faith planners.

Right side: Scripture contemplation
I use the daily sections to write out the verse(s) from the scripture plan. I usually highlight or underline key words. And, if there’s room below the verse, I also write a note, takeaway, or related words from the passage.
In the very first section on this page, I write what I’m learning about God from these verses. I do this at the end of the week after reviewing and reflecting upon all the verses I had written.

Left side: Responses
In the Priorities checklist, I have a running list of prayer items. These are things I’m praying about personally, as well as requests I’ve received from others, or whatever and whomever the Lord directs me to pray about. I also record praises in this list as I become aware of answers to prayers. If there is room left at the end of the week, then I’ll jot down things I’m thankful for. I already practice gratitude in other ways and places, but there’s always room for more.
In the Important section, I write a verse that I’m focused on for the week. This verse is not from the scripture plan, and could be from the previous week’s sermon or a random one that God has me focused on. It could also be a takeaway or thought I am meditating upon.
In the Looking Ahead section, I usually have some decor. I’m a visual person and this makes my planner more inviting and pleasant to use. I particularly like to include a beloved as it reminds me of my identity in Christ. Most of the decor pictured are included in the scripture plan except the beloved. They’re from a printable by Beloved Society for Illustrated Faith and can be found here: Proverbs 31 girls. There are many more sets available and they may be found by browsing through the Beloved Society category.
Lastly, in the Notes section, I write a response to what I’ve learned about God. This is a combination of gratitude and prayer as I am led.

See the Scripture Plans page for more information on this practice and on previous year’s plans. I’ll be sharing my reflections as monthly recap posts soon!
