Steward relationships

“Take heart, I have overcome the world. Even in trouble, victory is already Mine.”

February’s word to walk in is based on John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬ and I was led to John‬ ‭13‬:‭34‬-35 in response. It’s certainly an interesting verse pairing.

“I have said these things to you, that in me you may have peace. In the world you will have tribulation. But take heart; I have overcome the world.” [John‬ ‭16‬:‭33‬]

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” [John‬ ‭13‬:‭34‬-‭35‬]

So, essentially, this means – overcome trouble and live victoriously, through Jesus Christ, while stewarding relationships.

That’s because we are on a love quest! And the mission is to love others.

It is primarily through relationships that we pass on the gospel to others. How we navigate through the relationships we are given on the journey, and the challenges they present, reveal who we are becoming and how we reflect Jesus Christ.

This page is the monthly overview for the month of February in my faith planner. I’m using these pages to reflect on the different gifts we’re given to steward as that is my focus for the year.

I used a few printables, stamps, and washi tape from Illustrated Faith. The jumping off point for my journaling is the February prompt from a printable by @kristina.proffitt for Illustrated Faith’s digital Print Pray Shop. It’s called Words to walk in and includes a set of twelve prompt cards; one per month.

🎶 4th Man in the Fire ~ Jonathan & Melissa Helser

The year so far has felt very much like a refining fire. In fact, it has been so since September of last year when God told me the “days of purification are ahead”. Our relationship with others is a sure way to try us. It is where we will experience the most fire because we are called to love, and people are all kinds of broken, confused, and oppressed.

I’m thankful that He is in the fire with me.

I was led to a very insightful teaching related to this on YouTube on the topic of healing from childhood trauma and finding freedom from strongholds resulting from generational sin. Find it here: Let the Healing Begin.
