True courage, as seen through the life of Joshua, is nurtured by remembering God’s faithfulness.
True Courage is the latest devotional by Illustrated Faith. Written by @brookepetermann_art, it invites us to “take a closer look at what it means to live with true courage and step into a life marked by courageous faith”.
This session featured Joshua who God instructed to mediate on His word, and to be strong and courageous. This anchored his faith in God’s faithfulness and prepared him to walk with courage while leading God’s people into the promised land.
This Book of the Law must not depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. For then you will prosper and succeed in all you do. Have I not commanded you to be strong and courageous? Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God is with you wherever you go.
Joshua 1:8-9
I loved the reminder in this session that God’s word is the “biggest remembrance stone” we are given for steady, sustained courage. I received a timely word this morning and thought “how wonderful!”
How wonderful He is to provide us with His testimony to anchor our faith and devotion.
How wonderful He is to give us His Spirit to teach and bring to our remembrance all He said.
