A prayer for living with wonder

My focus for 2025 is living with wonder. I shared more about that here: Live with Wonder.

“Familiarity is comforting, but it can easily take away our sense of wonder at the world and at one another.” – 100 Days of Prayer, @shannanoel

That can be said of me today. So, I’m thankful for the reminder to live with awe & wonder, as inspired by His word. My prayer is…

Lord, make it like new.

Open my eyes to see You anew. Lead me to take greater notice of the everyday things that are so common they’ve become no longer wonderful.

Open my heart to feel, to experience it all as something brand new, like a child. To continually marvel at the great things You have done and are doing. To seek You in all things and pursue wonder.

On the glorious splendor of your majesty, and on your wondrous works, I will meditate.

[‭Psalm‬ ‭145‬:‭5‬

Who is like you, O Lord, among the gods? Who is like you, majestic in holiness, awesome in glorious deeds, doing wonders?

Exodus 15:11

Process and products used:

These pages in the 100 Days of Prayer by Shanna Noel features the following products by Creative Worship Stamps. These are affiliate links, please see the Privacy Policy for details.

These 100 Days devotional books are already very decorative. So, I took inspiration from the colours that were already on the page and applied yellow and teal inks using the Oval Mesh stencil. Then, I stamped the Sunflower Background in three areas. Next, I stamped the None Other Name stamps onto sticker paper so they would stand out from the background, then cut out and placed them on the page. I typed the “open my…” words on the same sticker paper and added them to the sunflowers. Lastly, I used the Skinny Caps alpha for the title, highlighted using a yellow marker, and added some washi tape by Illustrated Faith.

God is still doing amazing and wonderful things in the world. To see that, we just need to change our focus and look at Him and what He is doing in and around us. When it is hard to see the beauty, ask Him for help – ask Him to open your eyes and heart.
