Faith is a gift.
For we are saved by His grace alone. We have done nothing to earn this, but have been saved by His will and for His purposes.
We are saved for good works. These good works are grateful, joyful obedience to His commandments. And His commandments can be summed up as “return to your true self, love”.
We are saved, and given new life, to walk in love – a radical rebirth. Who is a God like ours?!
[we] were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind. But God, being rich in mercy, because of the great love with which he loved us, even when we were dead in our trespasses, made us alive together with Christ—by grace you have been saved
