Christmas – a story of peace

The Christmas story is one of peace.

For Jesus Christ is our High Priest, Wonderful Counsellor, and Prince of Peace.

“For we do not have a high priest who is unable to sympathize with our weaknesses, but one who in every respect has been tempted as we are, yet without sin. Let us then with confidence draw near to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy and find grace to help in time of need.” [Hebrews 4:15-16]

“There shall come forth a shoot from the stump of Jesse, and a branch from his roots shall bear fruit. And the Spirit of the Lord shall rest upon him, the Spirit of wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might, the Spirit of knowledge and the fear of the Lord.” [Isaiah‬ ‭11‬:‭1‬-‭2‬]

“Peace I leave with you; My peace I give to you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled; do not be afraid.” [John 14:27]

behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.

‭‭Matthew‬ ‭28‬:‭20‬
He is understanding and sympathetic of our human struggles.

More than that – He is able to bring peace to our troubled hearts. He has the authority to guide us from darkness into light. However, this requires surrender on our part. Do we want to be guided?

Process and products used:

These pages in the NIV Journal the Word Bible (New Testament) feature the following products by Creative Worship Stamps. These are affiliate links, please see the Privacy Policy for details.

I started by creating the die-cuts. First, I stamped the film strip from the Picture This set onto mixed media paper then cut it out by hand. I stencilled over it using the Star Pattern stencil using yellow ink and a blending brush. Then, I stamped the word “PEACE” over it using the Typewriter Alpha. Next, I stamped the flower and leaves, using the Hope Blooms set, onto mixed media paper, then cut them out using the coordinating dies. They were coloured using watercolour paint. Lastly, I stamped the polaroid from the Picture This set and cut it out using the Polaroid Die set.

Next, I created the background on the right page. I stamped the script on the bottom of the page using a stamp from Peaceful Botanicals in green ink. Then, I blended the same ink over that area and part of the left page using a blending brush. The words about faith and peace are from that same set.

I stamped the film strip again, in black ink, then glued the die-cuts to the page. Next, I stamped the title using the He Is stamp sets.

Lastly, I finished the page with some paint splatters – white acrylic and the same green watercolour used to paint the leaves. The verse was highlighted using a marker. Then, I added some yellow ink over it and in other areas using the Star Pattern stencil and a blending brush.

🎶 Trust You ~ 7 Hills Worship

Surrendering to the guidance that leads to freedom requires trust.

Will we walk by faith?
Will we say yes to being loved?
Will we follow and keep in step simply because we love Him and are confident of His love?

You keep him in perfect peace whose mind is stayed on you, because he trusts in you.
