Without hope, most of us would succumb to the pressures that come in this life and just quit.

But having hope – that there is something better ahead, that there’s good here in the difficulty; a silver lining perhaps – that helps us to endure all the hard things up to its end.

See, long-lasting does not mean lasting-forever, there is an end. Having a perspective that looks for goodness in the hard allows us to get glimpses of the good God that is up to and that gives us hope to persevere.
