He did it anyway

What a fitting time it is, in this Easter season, to reflect on the hope we have in Christ!

I journaled these pages using some ephemera from the March Illustrated Faith devotional kit called Joyful Obedience. I paired that with the recently released Hope Is Here mini devotional set by Kristina Proffitt, for Illustrated Faith’s Print & Pray (digital) shop, called He Did It Anyway.

Kristina writes that God knew us completely. He knew all of our past, present, and future failings, yet reached towards us with love and mercy. The Father sent the Son, and He chose to die to save us because of love.

… God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.

Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬

If there’s one thing we can see from all of scripture it’s that our God is steadfast!

He is true to His nature. He is true to His word.

This gives us hope here and now in the present. It gives us hope as well as for the future He’s promised. This hope changes how we live this life today.

The saying is trustworthy, for: If we have died with him, we will also live with him; if we endure, we will also reign with him; if we deny him, he also will deny us; if we are faithless, he remains faithful — for he cannot deny himself.

2 Timothy‬ ‭2‬:‭11-‭13‬

Abound in hope, friend; for He will do it!

We can ask for His help to be steadfast as well; by His Spirit within. To love always because that’s simply who we are. To forgive today even the future hurts. To have compassion and respond with kindness. To reflect Jesus Christ; our Maker, Lord, and Saviour.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.

Romans‬ ‭15‬:‭13‬
