Living for His glory

I’ve been thinking about living for God’s glory and the different ways He leads us in that.

How He blesses and sanctifies us to be a right representation of Him, and what that reveals about who He is; His goodness.

Here are my main takeaways:
1. I may not choose what He wills but He is infinitely wiser than my own logic.
2. The way we live out our faith matters – it will be either an encouragement or a discouragement to others. Not by being “perfect”, because no one is, but by being authentically set apart.
3. Our focus matters.

Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the inheritance as your reward. You are serving the Lord Christ.

Colossians‬ ‭3‬:‭23‬-‭24‬

Whoever believes in Him will do His works out of love, as commanded. In doing those works, we should be reflecting His character and will, by His strength and power. We should live as one sanctified to image Him. To do that well, we have to be in His word and listening for His voice.

Then the King will say to those on his right, ‘Come, you who are blessed by my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world… Truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.’

Matthew‬ ‭25‬:‭34, 40

🎶 Counting My Blessings ~ Seph Schleuter, Matt Maher

I know that seasons never last forever
So, God, I will remember
All of the reasons my heart has to be grateful
All the times You’ve been faithful to me

God, I’m still counting my blessings
All that You’ve done in my life
The more that I look in the details
The more of Your goodness I find
Father, on this side of Heaven
I know that I’ll run out of time
But I will keep counting my blessings
Knowing I can’t count that high
