Do you use a morning journal? I’ve found using one to be so helpful for processing all those early morning thoughts before they get lost in the day or lead to mental overload.
I shared a bit more about this part of my morning routine in this post: Be still and listen. But, basically, morning journaling for me involves doing a brain dump – writing down everything on my mind at the start of the day.
This could be just a few lines, several paragraphs, a to-do list, a prayer, the song on my brain, valuable insight, and anything in-between. I don’t do this every day, because some days my mind is clear and uncluttered, and I go right into my day. However, on the days when it is not, I find it very necessary to have a place to unload.
This year, I’m using a B6 Slim notebook by Midori for that purpose.

I considered keeping the cover in its beautifully pristine condition but I have so many vinyls in my stash wanting some love; waiting to be used.
On that note, one goal I have this year is to simplify my various stashes.
I don’t like clutter. I find it draining to see and be in disorganized spaces, and to possess lots of things that are not being used. I also think that using what we’re given and enjoying them is one way we express gratitude for them. And, I believe that we’re given so that we can then give to others.
So, I’ll be looking to either use, donate, or sell some of the items that I’ve inadvertently collected over the years. Here, I am using some.

Kissako – remember to have some tea.
I can’t vouch for this concept of “Kissako” but I came across these thoughts and really liked the idea. The concept is that tea is a way of serving others, of blessing (giving to) them and being blessed (receiving) in the process.
This idea can translate beyond tea itself to be whatever we offer to the world. What’s your “tea”? What is your unique gifting that you can’t help but to pour out and serve to others?
I included this page at the beginning of the journal because I found it encouraging. I think it’s a good idea to start the day with purpose in mind, don’t you? Plus, that sticker is so cheerful! It’s by TheCoffeeMonsterzCo. I’ve been a cheerleader of the owner and illustrator, Helen, and her sticker business for several years. I enjoy supporting small businesses, especially local, and their offerings to the world; and her products make me smile!

This monthly calendar is a freebie in the TheCoffeeMonsterzCo Facebook group. The theme is documenting memories; something I really need to work on this year! I shared more about celebrating the everyday simple joys in this post: Live with Wonder.
I’m using this page as a divider, which I’ll tab once the month is over, so that I can quickly browse through my entries later on.
Document the adventure of your current life, whatever and wherever that might be.

I love this quote and included it as a reminder that life doesn’t have to be spectacular to be meaningful. It doesn’t have to be what you wish it to be in order to celebrate it now. Every moment is precious, and we document them to remember and appreciate the life we’re given.
Do you keep a morning journal? What do you use?
