Perceive His eternal power and divine nature

Perceive God’s eternal power and His divine nature.

The word perceive means to see clearly, to discern, to understand on a deep level beyond the surface or the physical, to grasp the true nature of something or Someone.

Creation says a lot about its Creator.
What has been made reveals their Maker.
Yet, am I really listening? Am I paying attention?

For his invisible attributes, namely, his eternal power and divine nature, have been clearly perceived, ever since the creation of the world, in the things that have been made..

Romans‬ ‭1‬:‭20‬
What a merciful God; that He makes Himself known!

Oh sing to the Lord a new song, for he has done marvelous things! His right hand and his holy arm have worked salvation for him. The Lord has made known his salvation; he has revealed his righteousness in the sight of the nations.

Psalm‬ ‭98‬:‭1‬-‭2‬

While it is important to zoom in and dig deep to discover what’s beneath the surface, it is also important to zoom out to see the bigger picture.

This is evident in the story of Job and it’s echoed in the story of Abraham and his promised offspring, through which all people will be blessed.

And he brought him outside and said, “Look toward heaven, and number the stars, if you are able to number them.” Then he said to him, “So shall your offspring be.” And he believed the Lord, and he counted it to him as righteousness.

Genesis‬ ‭15‬:‭5‬-6

The promise is bigger than Abraham and his wife having a child for themselves. God’s purpose is greater and His plan is much more intricate.

What is seen up close may not be as it appears. It may not be the full reality. God knows far more, so it is wise to get His perspective to see what He’s doing and know what’s really going on.

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding.

Proverbs‬ ‭3‬:‭5‬

How wonderful it is that He stills us, fixes our gaze to focus on Him, and opens our eyes. Lord, awaken us and help us to truly see!

I used the Peony Cluster stamp set to stamp the floral in black ink to serve as a background. Next, I stamped it onto some mixed media paper and cut it out by hand. I used the Texture Tiles 12 stamp to colour the petals in pink, and used a green marker for the leaves. I layered the floral onto the background for added dimension. Then, I added some highlighting using the Oval Mesh stencil, and stamped the title using the Skinny Caps Alpha and Typewriter Alpha stamps.
