Walk worthy

To walk worthy is to live in a way that corresponds to our new identity in Christ.

If our mission is to love others, and it is through this endeavour that we are made mature, then guess the enemy’s game plan.

If loving well begins with a renewed mind through the word of God, then guess the enemy’s strategy.

Let’s walk with eyes wide open, friends. See the deceptions and traps. Suit up and fight!

Walk worthy of the gospel.

Our actions should reflect the adoption, holiness, and unity to which we are called. God is One, therefore we are also to be one. See the enemy’s schemes to divide us and respond by seeking unity.

Unity requires humility.

We should cloth ourselves in humility by counting others as more significant and so serve them. We should see that we are actually serving the Lord in this humility, enduring the trials and tears by the grace He supplies.

I therefore, a prisoner for the Lord, urge you to walk in a manner worthy of the calling to which you have been called, with all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love, eager to maintain the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace.

‭‭Ephesians‬ ‭4‬:‭1‬-‭3‬

Walk in newness of life.

Our behaviour flows from our beliefs so it’s vital that we prioritize the renewal of our minds through God’s word.

I was encouraged by the description of the pattern we are given to follow for Christian living – repentance, faith, obedience.

When we learn the truth about how God made us to be and how He calls us to live, we start with repenting – turning from that false way we were walking in. We take off the old self. Then, with a renewed mind, believing what is true, we take that step of obedience and put on the new self.

It is not sufficient to only stop the old ways, we have to replace those behaviours with new ones.

put off your old self, which belongs to your former manner of life and is corrupt through deceitful desires, and to be renewed in the spirit of your minds, and to put on the new self, created after the likeness of God in true righteousness and holiness.

Ephesians 4:22-24

Walk in love, light, and wisdom.

We are called to walk in sacrificial love like Christ did in obedience to the Father. We are to give of ourselves for the salvation and blessing of others.

We should be light bearers – going into all the dark places He leads us to take back the ones that rightfully belong to Him. We bear His light, not just by not participating in wickedness but in showing love and grace.

The time is short and so we should be wise in using this time to discern and be in diligent in accomplishing God’s will for our lives. To Him be all the glory!

Therefore be imitators of God, as beloved children. And walk in love, as Christ loved us and gave himself up for us, a fragrant offering and sacrifice to God.

Ephesians 5:1-2

Stand firm and persevere

We are in spiritual battle.

We can stand firm because victory is assured – Jesus conquered the cross. We can stand firm and maintain our faith because of the strength He supplies.

Be properly clothed and fight through constant prayer as the Holy Spirit leads.

Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

🎶 Better Than Life ~ Erik Nieder

Oh God, You are my God
And nothing else compares to You
Your presence is all I seek
‘Cause where Your Spirit is, I am free
Where Your Spirit is, Lord, I am free

I want to know You
To be like You
Your love is better than life
I lift my voice to glorify You

Your love is better than life

And we all, with unveiled face, beholding the glory of the Lord, are being transformed into the same image from one degree of glory to another. For this comes from the Lord who is the Spirit.
