He gives us Fall/Autumn seasons; times of harvest and celebration.
He helps us to see the purpose in change.
He enables us to be prudent with the time and not let the harvest go to waste.
Our God is faithful to bring us change that works to transform us. Change that challenges us to move from where we have grown comfortable. Change that serves to prune our lives, fix our focus, and bring forth our fruitfulness.
The way in which we respond to these changes can help or deter the process. We can get stuck in mourning what was and keep looking back. We can drag our feet while complaining about the discomfort and wishing it would end. However, if we have the mindset of learning from our experiences, of growing through challenges, and if we are grounded in His love, then we can see the opportunities we are given for glory and keep in step with the Spirit.
He who gathers in summer is a prudent son, but he who sleeps in harvest is a son who brings shame.
Proverbs 10:5

And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.
Galatians 6:9

I started with the background using the Delightfully Delicate stencil and a blending brush with brown and green inks. Then, I went over the bottom section of the pages using the leftover ink on my brush to add more colour. I did the same with the green ink on the top.
Next, I stamped the mushrooms from Colors of Fall on the bottom of the pages. I also stamped the mushrooms and acorns onto mixed media and coloured using watercolour paint. I didn’t want to get the white paint out for splatters so I used a white gel pen to add some dots here and there to mimic the same effect as splatters. The page looked a bit sparse so I used the same stamps in the same colours to add more detail to the page. I also stamped a few areas using black ink for contrast.
Then, I stamped the “But what if I fall?” and “have courage” sentiments from Have Courage. The sentiment on giving thanks is from Colors of Fall. I typed up “Fruitful in His presence” on my typewriter and shaded the background using the same inks. Lastly, I shaded the verses on the left page and outlined them with a green pencil crayon.

🎶 The Fall ~ Josh Wright
Change is difficult to embrace, sometimes, and especially when it’s sudden, confusing, and contrary to our desires. It’s usually with hindsight that we see how it all worked out for the best.
But, we don’t have to wait for hindsight to get that peace during times of change. We can seek His perspective to gain understanding. We can have peace to embrace the change in the moment by resting in His goodness and proven love.
It also does not have to be confusing. It is so much easier to trust God when you know Him well; when you know His ways, how He tends to move, what He usually does, and what He promises to still do.
And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28
