Finding joy and awe in the mundane, “ordinary”, day-to-day life.
I believe that is partly perspective - it is knowing the character and ways of God, and then choosing to see life with different eyes; ones that reveal the beauty and blessings in the “everyday”.
I’m learning, however, that there is also a need for intentionality. To purposely set our minds to dwell on God and remember His character, works and ways. To purposely live a life that continually confronts awe so that we don’t forget wonder.
In her latest “Hope is Here” mini devotional called “If Ever I Forget” - used here in my joy journal - @kristina.proffitt reminds us that we can unintentionally forget God and our need for Him in the busyness and in the mundane. He, however, does not forget us but faithfully reawakens us and invites us back to Himself. His grace to His people - now that is truly awesome!
”Oh give thanks to the Lord; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in his holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the Lord rejoice! Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!
