Pray like you are blessed

Fall always reminds me of God’s goodness.

While creating this page, He brought to mind a tree in the Fall/Autumn season to illustrate how He blesses us.

Consider the tree, beloved, with its plentiful leaves. Each one, at the right time, gently falling to the ground. Each one a blessing. After a strong wind, after a storm, look and you’ll see that even more blessings came down.

So are you abundantly blessed. Pray like it and endure with joy.

We can choose what we focus on – either the storm or the blessings it brings.

Rejoice always, pray without ceasing, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you. Do not quench the Spirit.

1 Thessalonians 5:16-19

Going further, we can focus on the Giver of all blessings.

We can look at the storm from the perspective that He is good and doing good. The more we do this the more we come to know and believe that He is who He says and will do what He says. I know that can be difficult in a fallen world, but He is our Helper so ask for help to see.

Give us this day our daily bread

[‭Matthew‬ ‭6‬:‭11‬
He not only provides for our daily needs.

He gives us far more than we deserve. Far more than what we ask for. Far more than we can even imagine. He gives in measure to His goodness, and it is so humbling to be in the position of the one on the receiving end. For everything we have rightly belongs to Him as Creator.

Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.

Process and products used:

These pages in the NIV Journal the Word Bible (New Testament) features the following products by Creative Worship Stamps. These are affiliate links, please see the Privacy Policy for details.

I started by working on the Clipboard. I stamped the image onto mixed media paper then coloured it using watercolour paint. I used the Worshipful Wordfetti stamps to add the three phrases while the verse is a stamp from the Colors of Fall set.

Next, I stamped the leaves from the Colors of Fall set onto mixed media paper and, again, coloured using watercolour paint.

For the background, I used the Herringbone Tiles stencil here and there and in varying depths. I didn’t want to cover the entire page because I wanted the leaves to stand out most. Those were stamped in black ink using a light touch at first.

I gauged how much room I would need for the title then glued the clipboard to the page at an angle and trimmed the excess. Then, I stamped the title using a combination of the Boss Lady Alpha and Typewriter Alpha stamps. The phrase “blessed beyond measure” is from the Colors of Fall set.

Next, I glued the painted leaves to the page. And then I stamped the Vintage Sheet Music in a few areas before stamping the leaves again with a heavier hand so that they appeared darker in contrast.

I finished by highlighting the text and adding some splatters using the watercolour paint as well as white acrylic paint.

🎶 Just That Good ~ Jon Reddick

Nothing is impossible if you promised it
There’s no evidence that matter than the empty grave

I know that my God is strong and able to do what He said He would
He’ll do what He said He would
Oh, my God can only be faithful – Jesus is just that good.
You have been just that good to me

Consider the tree, beloved.

Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his steadfast love endures forever!
