It has been a while since I shared anything on health and wellness but I’m planning to resume that. For now, here’s a look at how I’m using the horizontal Hemlock & Oak planner to steward my health.
Weekly pages
I use the left page, which is divided into days, to record how I slept and how I am feeling that day. I used to track my meals, and that was insightful, but now I only note that if I think it’s relevant to how I am feeling.
The right page is a blank grid page. I use it to track and remind myself of the supplements I’m taking. I jot down notes on whatever I’m learning that week about the body, health, nutrition, and wellness.
Below that is a Reflect & Learn section. I use this area to review the week, make conclusions, and come up with any changes I need to make going forward based on what I’ve learned that week.

Monthly pages
I use the monthly calendar to note little ways in which I nurtured my wellbeing. This is more for fun than anything and a cute way to use up stickers.

Monthly Overview and Review pages
There are two pages before the monthly calendar for an overview, and two after the weekly pages for review. One page is structured and the other is a blank grid page. I don’t use these every month, rather they are used when and how needed.

In January, I used the overview pages to set my intentions for how I would steward my health that month. I wanted to focus on getting enough protein and boosting my water intake. I noticed that I get sugar cravings when these are not properly balanced. I also planned on addressing nutritional deficiencies which I thought were causing sleep issues. Lastly, I wanted to increase my joy as I believe that is good for health.

I did well with increasing protein and water for the most part. There were some days where I wasn’t hungry so skipped lunch. But, my hunger gauge is so unreliable. I’ve never had much of an appetite and my hunger presents itself as low energy. So, I have to be more diligent in managing that but putting aside a small bite that I can have mid afternoon.
Sleep wasn’t much improved. There is a lot about perimenopause that I don’t yet understand but it seems like sleep disruptions are part of this lovely phase in women’s lives. I’m glad that He sustains me on these poor sleep days.
Lastly, my joy was greatly increased this month. There were many funny memes and reels that made their way to me over the course of the month that gave me a few laughs. I’m thankful for that!
