It’s day 12 of 21 Days of Prayer and the prompt for today is “Calling”.
whatever you do, in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him
Colossians 3:17
Let’s pray:
“Jesus, meet us in the ordinary moments of our days. Receive the work of my hands, let all I do be a reflection of You. Let what I do today carry Your love, and may it give You glory.”
Let’s listen:
“Father, where are You inviting me to show faithfulness today? May You ignite that in my heart? Reveal to me how to walk in this calling.”
His response? Like a child.
Like a child; humbly trusting and dependant on Him, according to His promises.
Like His child; rooted in our identity, according to His word.
Beloved, do you know who you are?
You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.
John 15:16
Friends, our calling was given for our joy!
Our calling was given for our fruitfulness and to display His faithfulness.

Speak joy and amen, peace and amen.
Agree with God about the truth in His word – we will find joy in His presence, His peace will guard our hearts and minds.
Speak love. Speak kindness.
Speak patience, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.
Speak in Jesus’ name; the name above all names.
the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control
Galatians 5:22-23

Let’s respond (yes & amen):
“Father, thank You for the calling You have placed before me today. Thank You for the way that You have made and shaped me to best display Your glory. Let my ordinary obedience be an offering of love, poured out with gratitude, for Your glory, amen!”

21 Days of Prayer is written by @shannanoel. It walks through daily prompts starting with small, local prayers, and moving to big, kingdom prayers. Each day’s prayer was led by a different person in the @illustratedfaith community on Instagram. I had the joy of sharing on day 12.
I opted for the digital version of the kit. And, I used this “fruity” 5×7 lined notebook that I took apart and placed on rings. I used the left page for the day’s prompt and prayer. My favourite part of these prayers are the prompts for listening; expecting to hear from our Father as we lifted our hearts and voices. So, I dedicated the right page to this, and noted all the marvellous things He said.
