April scripture recap

Behold our amazing God!

Here is a recap of what I’ve learned about God in April through writing scripture in my faith planner.

Our God is Creator and Restorer

He initiates, sustains, and completes – Alpha & Omega.
He rescues, redeems, renews and makes all things new.

It’s time for the new thing.
Tell the darkness about your God!

Speak His Name.
Speak Who He is, what He says, what He has done and promised to do.

we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.

2 Corinthians‬ ‭4‬:‭16‬-‭18‬

He is Lord over the harvest

He is the Source of all life; He is Life itself.
He plants, grows, sustains, and makes fruitful.

He is Lord over the harvest, and God of our blessed hope.

“The righteous flourish like the palm tree and grow like a cedar in Lebanon. They are planted in the house of the Lord; they flourish in the courts of our God. They still bear fruit in old age; they are ever full of sap and green, to declare that the Lord is upright; he is my rock, and there is no unrighteousness in him.” [Psalm‬ ‭92‬:‭12‬-‭15‬]

Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! According to his great mercy, he has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead

1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭3‬

He regenerates and anoints

He is faithful to His promises.
He restores and satisfies.
He regenerates and anoints.
He heals and renews; in mercy, grace, and love.

Spend any amount of time in this broken world and you will experience hurt. For me, however, it started at a very young age in a dysfunctional family with broken people. Although I had forgiven, I did know that my heart needed to be healed.

I imagine a broken heart is ineffective at containing the love poured into it. Maybe there is still some benefit to the love that flows through the brokenness? Maybe it is this very love that heals in the process.

He is not only near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18), He heals in that nearness.

And now, I can be filled and water through the overflow.
He did it for me, and I know that He can do that for you. He is faithful!

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.

Psalm‬ ‭147‬:‭3‬

He is speaking goodness over us

In the beginning, God created.
He spoke and goodness burst forth.
He is still speaking goodness over us; restoring what is rightfully His.

Yet, even now, as we wait for the fulfilment of His good plans, we can rejoice. Yes, even through the aches and pains, the discomforts and challenges – we can sing! We can worship. We can wait. We can speak what He speaks.

“The Spirit of the Lord God is upon me, because the Lord has anointed me to bring good news to the poor; he has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to those who are bound; to proclaim the year of the Lord’s favour, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all who mourn; to grant to those who mourn in Zion— to give them a beautiful headdress instead of ashes, the oil of gladness instead of mourning, the garment of praise instead of a faint spirit; that they may be called oaks of righteousness, the planting of the Lord, that he may be glorified.” [Isaiah‬ ‭61‬:‭1‬-‭3‬]

For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬
