Christmas – a story of joy

The Christmas story is a story of joy.

For He is Immanuel, God With Us – the One Who made a way to be with us, not reluctantly, but with great longing. In His presence is fullness of joy.

“She will bear a son, and you shall call his name Jesus, for he will save his people from their sins.” All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had spoken by the prophet: “Behold, the virgin shall conceive and bear a son, and they shall call his name Immanuel” (which means, God with us).

Matthew‬ ‭1‬:‭21‬-‭23‬

Process and products used:

These pages in the NIV Journal the Word Bible (New Testament) features the following products by Creative Worship Stamps. These are affiliate links, please see the Privacy Policy for details.

I was going for “Christmas” colours with this one. I started with the Mixed Up stencil to create the background using red and green inks and a blending brush. I also applied yellow ink through the Star Pattern stencil in a couple areas on the right page, and over the verse on the left page.

Next, I stamped the film strip from Picture This onto mixed media paper and cut it out by hand. I stencilled over it using the yellow ink and Star Pattern stencil. Then, I stamped the film strip on the page in three areas then glued the die-cut over that. I stamped the word “JOY” over it using the Typewriter Alpha. I also stamped the name “Immanuel” using that alpha on a piece of scrap paper styled to look similar.

Lastly, I created the rest of the title using the He Is, Typewriter Alpha, and Skinny Caps Alpha stamps.

Rejoice, rejoice – Immanuel has come!!

I am continually in awe of God. He humbled Himself in so many ways to come dwell with us. He did whatever whatever was necessary to reunite us to the Father.

He is with us and that changes everything!
