I love listening to worship music! It is such a big part of my faith practice.
I always find so much encouragement from a song of worship and praise. I often wake with one playing in my head which sets the tone for my day. And then someone usually comes to mind who needs to hear it, so I’ll send them a quick encouraging message with a link to the song.
be filled by the Spirit: speaking to one another in psalms, hymns, and spiritual songs, singing and making music with your heart to the Lord, giving thanks always for everything to God the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ..
Ephesians 5:19-20
I especially love listening to worship music when I’m struggling. When I’m facing a difficult time. And when I’m exhausted but still need to “mom”. Though I don’t feeling like worshipping, I show up, put on a tune and before I know it I’m singing His praises.
That’s how I rejoice and I think that’s one reason Paul encourages us to rejoice always.
This act of rejoicing, when we don’t even feel like it, reminds us of the goodness of God and leads us into His presence. We praise before the victory. He meets us there and strengthens us.
Sometimes, the song I’m given speaks to what I’m currently learning. I usually put it on repeat and meditate on the lyrics as I go about my days until I get the message. One such song this past week was “God, You’re So Good” by Passion. It was part of our worship service during online church last week. I love the lyrics and had it on repeat all week!
Oh God, You’re so good. You’re so good to me.
I am blessed, I am called. I am healed, I am whole.
I am saved in Jesus’ name.Highly favoured, anointed. Filled with Your power.
God, You’re So Good – Passion
For the glory of Jesus’ name.
He blesses us so immensely and in ways we sometimes don’t even see! Yet, if He did nothing for us today or tomorrow, the love that He demonstrated at the cross in redeeming us is more than enough every day. He is so good, and so good to us!
As you head into your week, I encourage you to remember His goodness and give praise.
