True courage looks like trusting God’s will

True Courage is the latest devotional by Illustrated Faith. Written by @brookepetermann_art, it invites us to “take a closer look at what it means to live with true courage and step into a life marked by courageous faith”.

I speed-read through the devotional to get an initial sense for the content and found it to be very encouraging and timely for this month as we are tested and grown in self-control.

Courage looks like saying “Your will be done” when you have no idea what He’ll do.

Will it hurt? Will it prolong?

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Coming out of 21 Days of Prayer, I am confident that His will is for goodness.

So, whatever His will entails, I trust in His faithfulness to go with me. I trust that His steadfast love will sustain. All praise and glory be to You, my God!

Products used

My journaling is in my faith journal which is a basic, blank, A5 notebook.

I opted to use the digital version of the devotional kit. I’m really enjoying the benefits of working with the printables and the flexibility they allow.

I also used some stamp sets and washi tape, also by Illustrated Faith, which are older items from my stash.

🎶 Set Me Apart ~ Ernstly Etienne

I’ll stay right here
Under Your shadow
Under the mighty hand of God
Consecrated to pour out for purpose
I give You my heart

Set me apart for Your glory
My heart is set on this one reward
Let Your will be done

Be still, and know that I am God. I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth! The Lord of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our fortress.

Psalm 46:10-11
