Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed.

In thinking about what God wanted me to convey on this page, I received the idea to create a stack of stones to represent the prayers that we offer up to Him.

I used the Funky Stone Stencil to create the stones. To do that, I applied brown, green, and white paint onto mixed media paper using a sponge. After they dried, I cut them out by hand and stamped a sentiment on each stone using the Worshipful Wordfetti set.

I also stamped and coloured some flowers from the Bloom With Grace set using markers.

For the page’s background, I applied grey ink over the stencil very lightly using a blending brush. Then, I stamped the Worshipful Wordfetti and the same flower over that, again very lightly for a subtle effect.

I then glued the stones and flowers to the page. Then, I added the title using a stamp from the God is Already There set. I finished the page by highlighting the text and adding a prayer.

This page is a celebration of God’s faithfulness to hear and answer our cries.

Suffering will surely come but we can rejoice in it because of the mighty help we are promised by our loving God who cares for us. He uses these times to refine us while also bringing about His redemptive plans.

Keeping a record of our prayers is so important! Not only do this help us to remember God’s grace and mercy, but it also allow for insight in the days to come. Without it we can miss how God is moving in answer to those prayers. His thoughts and ways are not like ours so He may answer our prayers in ways we don’t expect. But, in surrendering those cares to Him, we can trust that He will do with them what is ultimately best.

Can you see what He’s building from the cares you’ve surrendered to Him?

Therefore let those who suffer according to God’s will entrust their souls to a faithful Creator while doing good… Humble yourselves, therefore, under the mighty hand of God so that at the proper time he may exalt you, casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you.
