Faith

Faith with joy

I was lamenting to God about all the pain and suffering in this world. He comforted me by leading me into worship and strengthening my faith in Him.

Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen.

Hebrews 11:1

In other words, faith is believing that we will get the thing(s) we hope for within God’s will. This belief prompts obedience to take the steps God says will lead to realizing this hope.

Faith with joy is singing even when you don’t feel like it, when the night is long, when the fire is hot, when chaos and darkness abound, because He said it is good to do so and because He is good.

I can’t help but think that our troubles are meant to keep us from being so content in this world that we’re no longer passing through. We are stewards for our Lord until He returns or takes us home. Being set apart for this role is not only about separation. It is to belong and be devoted to the One who made our hearts.

“Though you have not seen him, you love him. Though you do not now see him, you believe in him and rejoice with joy that is inexpressible and filled with glory, obtaining the outcome of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” [1 Peter‬ ‭1‬:‭8‬-‭9‬]

Send out Your light, O Lord, my God; guide me to where You are.

Send out your light and your truth; let them lead me; let them bring me to your holy hill and to your dwelling! Then I will go to the altar of God, to God my exceeding joy, and I will praise you with the lyre, O God, my God.

Psalm 43:3-4

🎶 Dawn Chorus ~ TEMITOPE

I’ll be the song that guides you home
Reminding you you’re not alone
I’ll be the hand to hold when the night is long until morning comes
The melody that rises with the sun
So full of promise
Just listen for the dawn chorus
Keep holding on
Light is on the way
