I’m scripture writing, in my faith planner, and reflecting on joy this month. Last time, I shared about the strength in joy.
This week, there were so many prayers for healing and of all types. Emotional healing. Physical. Mental. Spiritual.

And, with the verses I focused on this week, I got to thinking – what if joy heals?
In every sense. In a complete sense. What if it’s joy that heals? Joy as the ultimate Rx?
[Proverbs 17:22] “A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.”
Science is now proving what the bible has said in this area. Laughter is good medicine. Negative emotions, stress, distress all have destructive impacts on the human body. Our bodies is so complex! We cannot fully comprehend how the emotional, mental, spiritual, and physical components work in synergy. However, scripture tells us that we are one just like our God, in whose image we are made, is One.
Our God is the Great Physician. He knows the human body as He is its Creator. He knows what ails us and the very source of the problem. We can trust Him with its care.
[Psalm 103:2-3] “Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits, who forgives all your iniquity, who heals all your diseases..”
He not only instructs us to rejoice but gives us plenty of reasons to do that. And, also, plenty of opportunities in which to practice that! See that difficulty through different eyes.
Our God, in love, gives us pleasures and joy, blessings and goodness. He does great and wondrous things; giving us reasons to sing.

🎶 Joy of the Lord ~ Rend Collective
Though the tears may fall, my song will rise
My song will rise to You
Though my heart may fail, my song will rise
My song will rise to You
While there’s breath in my lungs
I will praise You Lord
When sorrow comes my way
You are the shield around me
Always you remain
My courage in the fight
I hear You call my name
Jesus, I am coming
Walking on Your waves
Reaching for Your light
The joy of the Lord is my strength
In the darkness I’ll dance
In the shadows I’ll sing
The joy of the Lord is my strength
I don’t know the answer to the question I posed. But, this song gave me so much strength this week! Strength to overcome all the fatigue, aches, and pains to do what needed doing. So, I’m going to keep taking this medicine.
do not be grieved, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.
